- 1/2 ounce grenadine*
- 1/4 teaspoon Angostura bitters
- 8-12 ounces dry champagne or sparkling wine
* Most commercial brands of grenadine available are not much more than colored sugar syrup. Fortunately, making your own is easy -- and well worth the time. Just mix equal parts (by volume) pomegranate juice and granulated sugar in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Shake until the sugar has dissolved. (It's easier to do if the juice is at room temperature, not chilled.) Keep the grenadine refrigerated.
