Cuisinart cordless immersion blenderMy Review
I bought one on a whim and we use it every day to scramble eggs or mix liquids for muffins or making small amounts of whipped cream, blending soups. It would be great if you are making a cup of salad dressing.
So after a few years, the old one stopped working and I bought a new, shiny, stainless steel one with a black handle. It works even better. They changed the design so it doesn't create suction to the bowl while mixing, the blade doesn't come off (so that part can't break as easily or get lost) and it seems like the motor works better, but that may be because it's still new.
I never use the attachments, the whisk is a joke, but the blade works wonders.
The fact that I can pick it up without plugging it in every time is great. It is heavy but you only use it for a few seconds and you can leave it standing up in the mixture. It holds a charge for months at a time.
Downsides: You can't mix very small amounts of food, the liquids have to reach at least 2 inches deep or no mixing occurs. This is mitigated with the supplied container which is narrow, but you still need about 1/2 cup to mix (I do 2 eggs and a splash of water for an omelet; one egg yolk and a clove of garlic for aioli was totally unsuccessful).
It won't blend frozen foods or ice cubes - it's not strong enough.
It sits on my counter in its own stand and I love it.
